San Francisco 09.01.2007, Part II of IV

I'm bringing this concert blog over from another site and need to reformat the sections and re-add the photos as I do so, So I apologize that they're showing up out of order... I'll fix that when I have them all up...

After the Blaqk Audio show at Popscene and I ran out of money and got pushed out of Denny's, I had to walk around Downtown SF until morning when I could get a train (BART) down to where my family lived in the South Bay... I decided I had to get SOME photos that night of SOMETHING, even if it meant showing every predator on the street I had something worth stealing ...

...$2000 in camera equipment I starved for months to buy, that had to be locked in someone's car during the show while everyone with a cheap ass camera they could shove down their cleavage got to take photos of the guys' debut performance...

I decided not to waste the opportunity to photograph San Francisco and have SOMETHING to take home for all I went through (see SF part I) getting to this show.

I watched City workmen washing down the streets and settled across from the Powell Trolley Plaza for some time and walked around Market Street, but rather suddenly the wet paving and night air on my poor tortured feet was icy cold and HURT. Looking around I noticed that BART had started running trains out to the North and figured I had enough change left to ride back and forth for awhile and get warm...

I decided to take the line out to where I used to live (Pleasant Hill.... why they named it that, I never understood. I went to Diable VALLEY College (for awhile). The only hill I knew was near the base of Mount Diablo (and that name sort of speaks for itself)) and I really wanted to see if the old railroad apartments that stood in sight of the BART line in Oakland were still there.... I have many photos of the interior, but never got a shot of the ugly yellow wrapper on so much lovely woodwork, plaster and red carpeting. Unfortunately, it was too dark to see much of Oakland and even several passes didn't give me any view other than BLACK and a few blurry street lights. I wonder if they're even still standing :-(
