Rewards: Seeing Hunter and Wedge together again in their old punk band. Getting to photo Hunter and Wedge together again in their old punk band.

Challenges: Publicist never emailed me back, although Wedge says he'll get me in; bus system has decided I must leave at either 5:30 am or 8am in order to get to Anaheim (1.5 hours away) for a show at 7pm tonight. I haven't slept, I still feel dead from all the blood tests this week, and I get to sit up at Denny's and/or a parking lot all night waiting for the bus home in the morning.

Minuses: Camera is still full of Warped Tour dust and debris; Warped Tour eye injury/infection is barely healed.

Pluses: Got my Buzznet phone working again, so I can complain about it in live streaming media on miseryslifeofdoom.buzznet.com as long as the battery holds out.

Does it exist?

How are people getting these great dark eyes without going blind or ending up looking like Marylin Manson's ugly sister (after being caught in a rain storm)?

ANd what isn't going to immediately come off and foul up $$$ camera equipment when I'm trying to work?

I need to either learn to sleep at night, or learn to work during the day... but I'm afraid 20 years of conditioning (and my aversion to daylight/fear of night zombies) can't really be overcome...

Hare Krishna's make me happy. And I like the free books. Reading the Bhagavad-gita at 3am in a bus station is a heck of a  lot more pleasant than sleeping on a wire bench.

 

I got home from the Warped Tour epic Greyhound bus station adventure yesterday afternoon... woke up with my eye swollen shut today, so my post tour blog is going to be a little delayed as I'm supposed to sit in a dark room and put drops in it (the Dr didn't say I couldn't play Persona 3 while sitting in said-dark room though, heheh). I've got approximately 6500 photos waiting to be downloaded from the Chula Vista and Carson dates. I shot a LOT of the bands, almost all of the ones I tried to cover, discovered some new bands, got a bag of swag, and need to sleep a week to make up for about 6 hours of sleep, total, since last week Tuesday.

I'm photographing Warped Tour for Buzznet and Music Pictures, Ltd at the upcoming 8/14 Chula Vista (aka San Diego) and 8/17 Carson (LA) dates, so please say "Hi" if you see me scurrying around with my camera like an escapee from Arkham Asylum (and green tea and vegan sammiches while I'm sleeping @ Greyhound for two nights wouldn't be unwelcome. Anyone want to go see Batman in downtown SD after the event? I've only seen it twice...)

I get to catch Hunter twice this month, since I'm also shooting The Force reunion show in Anaheim in a few weeks (no "3 song limit" and no stage barrier in front, so I'll probably be up on the side of the stage :-)

Is it normal to want to throw up when you find a paparazzi/celebrity site has stolen and is selling one of your videos of band footage, and the only reason you found out is that your friend (in the band) posted it on their website and when you stopped by you wondered why this strange site's big ugly watermark was on your vid?






Seriously... I've expected this to eventually happen with my concert photos, but not my vids (for one, because they usually suck!)






Worse, these creeps BUY media from outside sources, so someone may have stolen it (and god knows who else's vids) off Youtube (it looks like my high quality version from there, rather than the lower quality MySpace/Buzznet copies) and SOLD it to them to sell/license, if they didn't steal it from there themselves.






I'm going to go throw up now.
